Ah football, it really is a game of opinions.

While one fan could watch a player and think he was outstanding, another could think that the same individual had a rotten afternoon.

That was the general consensus on social media when the Manchester United fans reacted to Chris Smalling’s performance against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Smalling struggled for football in the early weeks of the season due to the form of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly, but the England international has been a constant in recent weeks to a number of United injuries in a defensive area.

It did appear that the former Fulham centre-back would help United keep another clean sheet on Sunday, but the Red Devils conceded a late goal in their 2-1 win.

Smalling took to Twitter after the match to reveal his delight at the win, and the United supporters were on hand to offer their opinion.
